 Roundup Central School has a long-standing history for providing local students with a quality education.  Most recently, in 2009, the school was recognized as a   National Title I Distinguished School. This award was based on making Annual  Yearly Progress (AYP) for over two years in a row.  That same year the school was nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School.  Also, in 2009  Education Northwest, formally known as Northwest Educational Laboratories did afeature article on the school that was published in their magazine NorthwestEducation (http://educationnorthwest.org/resource/675).In both 2009 and 2010 the principal of the school served on a discussion panelpresented by Education Northwest that examined turnaround schools.

Today Central School serves approximately 320 students ingrades K-6. These students are taught by a staff of approximately 24 certifiedteachers and specialist.  Support staffincludes 17 classroom/school and instructional aides, two office personnel, a fourmember housekeeping/custodial staff, and a five member cooking staff. All staffmembers at Central School strive in their individual areas to make the learningexperience of students, both meaningful and positive.
